Welcome to my blog! I am Nan, the human component of this blog. B.A.G.S. (a.k.a. AINE) is my pug. This blog will notate musings, muses and British inspired goodies with an American twist. I own The Portobello Road Shoppe located at theportobellord.etsy.com. My specialties are: sewing, stitching, paper crafting and felting. Oh, and the occasional nummy brownies.
It will end on Monday than *hopefully* my life will be semi back to normal.
Lets see -what is on for the weekend? Seriously busy! I have to get the house and my act together for a major weekend next weekend. Block party and a Birthday Tea. That means the house needs to be in order, I have to follow up on where the missing light lamppost is, arrange the electrician finish my bathroom, get my house cleaned, make mac and chesse for the kiddies on the block and than make a whole TEA. ACK!
So I am wee bit busy. Will post status tomorrow! :)
This week? Cooking! As you have seen from my previous posts, I have been doing a lot of cooking as of late. Made me think of some of my LOVES and MUST HAVES.
LOVE: Anything by Chicago Metallic. These are REALLY hard to find but I got the best cookie sheet ever at Dean and Deluca in Soho. I adore the flagship store. Unfortunately, it looks like these are hard to get online unless you are a commercial baker. But if you can - I would jump at the chance! My cookie sheet has yet to warp! I love it! I also have a loaf pan and it perfect for pumbkin bread.
NEEDS: New rolling pin. I literally cracked my rolling pin! So I am thinking of getting one of the following. But which one? hmm.
THE OMG I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THIS BUT I ONLY HAVE ONE RECIPE or Have NO use for it category:
KitchenAide Stand Mixer!
After watching Julie and Julia I want to make everything with a dutch oven...
But which one to choose? I adore Ironclad pans but to have a real french enameled pan? TRES MAGNIFIQUE!
Pressure Cooker. Have no idea what to do with this but dang does it look like FUN.
Here I say I am going to blog 3 x a week and what do I do? NOT BLOG. *facepalm*
So that means - 2 blogs in one day in order to keep up with my goal.
So here is your morning entry...
Last Friday I went to the uber fun Evanston Craft Social. I saw my crafty friends, Simone manager of Craft Fancy (she did a beautiful make and take of paper flowers) and Susie coordinator of our The Chicagoland Craft Collective. I am so glad I met up with them because I so miss my Crafty friends! With the crazyness of work - let's just say I am BEYOND excited that the next Chicagoland Craft Collective will be at Craft Fancy on Sept 16! Everyone is welcome btw! Come one, come ALL!
Here are some pictures of the food... now imagine the craftyness of the projects!
3 Dream car and mobile minihouse *swoon* With these two beauties? I may even get my spoiled butt camping. I mean for reals, it is a modern airstream, it seriously folds and it has everything in there! SWEET. How is that for uber organization and packing?
And we can't forget a Puggy MUST HAVE MONDAY. I present to you, Aine the puggy COOKIE MONSTER.
nom nom nom
Sorry this pug-ette is to busy eating her cookie to comment where it is from. :)
