Welcome to my blog! I am Nan, the human component of this blog. B.A.G.S. (a.k.a. AINE) is my pug. This blog will notate musings, muses and British inspired goodies with an American twist. I own The Portobello Road Shoppe located at theportobellord.etsy.com. My specialties are: sewing, stitching, paper crafting and felting. Oh, and the occasional nummy brownies.
So back when the Ipad was annouced I posted NO WAY would I be buying this thing that is an oversized iTouch with a horrific misogynist name.
Now I look at this:
and think it is a good idea. *facepalm*.
Sadly, I have been spending way to much time justifying why I need this 1.5 pound piece of beauty. Here is a partial list (just add "when I am on the train or in front of the telly to the end of each one):
FInally will be able to organize my plithera of photos
Update this BLOG more OFTEN - perish the thought! lol

Oh crude. I reserved an iPad. Don't kill me! However I have points that will "expire" from work if I dont use em. It is either that or a macro camera lense. *sigh* dang you APPLE! Why couldnt the second Gen iPad be out NOW.
1 down, 7 more to go!
Not the best picture I know, but the iPhone camera is so much easier than downloading my dslr!
Tomorrow I am hoping to finish the remaining placemats and than start felting some napkin rings!
If you follow me on Twitter (@nanandbags8 or @ainethepug or @theportobellord) you will notice that I put daily to do lists on @nanandbags. It totally helps me focus on making sure I get a good "work /life balance". I find if I don't put the crafty life on the list Nan has no crafty life at all. Lol
Okay on to beddy and Aine is a*again* licking me to death ;).
We have been crazy busy. Our weekend started out on Friday at 5:30 am (yes AM!)and didn't end until I slept through the zzzz oscars. We snuck in nappies when we could but it seemed like we couldnt get enough!
I need to show you this cutie putie picture taken by Martha on her Iphone! The app she used is called hipstamatic - isn't it cool? We all had a very fun visit with Ms. Martha,Mugsy and Pixie! See Aine looks sad to leave she loved it so much. I have so many more pictures but I have been so busy that I have not had time to upload anything.
Btw -Did you all see this while watching the horrid oscars?
YES. The fighting agains't the madness and chanting to myself "you can wait to the second GEN!" starts!
And than I saw this...
In a separate report, Reuters notes that Stephenson also addressed Apple's iPad, claiming that he sees the device as being mainly a "Wi-Fi driven product". The report curiously explains that Stephenson does not expect the iPad to generate significant numbers of new "subscriptions" for AT&T, although customers are expected to use "prepaid" services.
While AT&T has agreed to provide wireless connections to the iPad tablet computer, Randall Stephenson said he does not expect the device to result in many new service subscriptions for AT&T as consumers will instead use Wi-Fi or prepaid services, where they do not subscribe to a service contract.
It is unclear what these terms are referring to, as Apple has only announced that AT&T will be providing month-to-month, contract-free data services for the iPad that could be considered both "prepaid" and "subscriptions".
So here is Nan thought process at the moment:
Why I need this:
could replace my current "composition" notepad. I use all the time at work. I would have all the notes in one tidy little place, however, people could submit that if this is work related -why I am not using my handy dandy work supplied laptop to take notes? *hits head*
could blog more - in bed, on the sofa, in starbucks - you know ANYWHERE.
could actually read all my my google readers, NYT(gasp!) magazines and not have to deal with storage issues.
What is still holding me back:
no flash! I want my hulu etc if this is going to work.
no usb?!
Steve Jobs confirmed that even if you did buy the 3g iPad and had it next to your iphone - you couldn't teather it as in - sharing your wi-fi connection with the iPhone. So basically that means you are paying for two seperate 3G bills! Seriously ridonculous. Sidenote. Seriously - Steve Jobs answers email?
Quick Must have Monday - Can't really go into what is in the Apple package but I highly recommend the items at the following:link Will show you soon promise! But I am really impressed with this Must have pick!

I have had a busy weekend -making Shiba Ina Puppers! These are for my friend and her two Shiba's! First off - the pug on the right was my very first felted animal and you can see how much I have progressed! I was really excited to use a new form of skeletal structure so I was having way to much fun. One shiba is totally posable so I can't wait to give it to my friend! Close up... love the tongue close up of the sleeping Shiba another side of the posing shiba.

Well first off, this is what Mummy did - she felted two Shiba's for a friend of hers, I didnt really CARE for that. I thought I was a perfect model for a felted puggy. pft. See me not sitting next to her? Moi not pleased. Mummy promised a puggy felted puppy for me.
