Wow! What a day! I was asked to do make & takes for my LSS Craft Fancy(craftfancy.com) during CHA and Of course I said SURE. Don't have to twist my arm to make samples! Love seeing and trying new products. Well this year it was totally different - I met some of paper crafting ideals! Still getting the pictures in, but here are two. Tim Houltz!

George, The Tea Party Baby Elephant

Oh Hai there, This is George!   Yes I think this is one of my  needle felted favorite critters to date.  George is for a workmate of mine at work who is expecting a wee little Republican.   So I thought George would be a cute little critter for the baby's room. George is fully movable and his trunk holds the United States Flag and guess how I made it all 'vintagey"?   TEA!  LOL.  LOVE IT!  His nappies are blood red wool. 

He sits so nicely  too.  Wiring the body is really important in needlefelting.
 

You can move his trunk - i have more pictures but they are far away and his wee little face is so cute!

Jeeze. Now I think I need to make a Donkey called Hope. :)  What should I needlefelt next?!

PS - the pumbkin is already gone! My sister nabbed it. lol. HUGS! Nan

not quite ready for a Republican TeaParty

Here is Georgie. He is a current work in progress for my colleague at work who is expecting her own little elephant soon-lol I just have to make a diaper & I sadly do not know how to make one. Lol. I thought it was an easy little square but nope. I also am going to have Georgie hold a US Flag in his trunk but I believe I need a really cool one. Toothpick flag will not cut it. Granted I could make one. Hmmmmmm. Also have to do his mouth etc. The orange & curly green on the pumpkin is new to me & I am loving it.I expect some fun creative Halloween items soon. Hope everyone stays cool-I will be creating this weekend hazzah! Hugs all! nan

Aine the Hero Arts stamp?

But the stamp is smiling; Aine is not even slightly amused. LOL. She is either like "What are you doing Mum!?!" Or "Not.Again". Total yea-ness sidenote! My favorite neighbor and co-needle felter in cute critterdom is on the Etsy Treasury for Needle Felting! Congrats Judy!!! *pats you on the back* Pls see her shop at http://feltlikehelping.etsy.com. Because she just rocks & 100% of her profit goes to help victims in the Haiti Earthquake. How cool is that?!?! Have a great weekend everyone! Aine nor I will be venturing outside in this oppressive heat (puggies just can't take this heat nor can their mummies!) but I will be needle felting & Aine will be her cute self:

Well. Now that is a vacation for the record books.

Whoa. What a holiday. Dunno if I would even wish this type of holiday on my worst enemy.  Let's just say it wasn't the holiday I planned  for what-so-ever. The following ensued:

1) Threw my back out.  Only could stay an hour at my sisters 4th of July party. The rest of the night was me, Aine and sleeping on the hard floor. But... it worked!

2) Air condition decided to declare it's independence.  AKA it DIED. So therefore the following ensured:    

• full day of researching and calling family to see what type of air con they had and who they used
• research on Angie's List(I so recommend this!), Consumer Reports (surprisingly not much info!) and reviewing corporate HVAC sites and the governments tax rebate rules.
• interviewing contractors and conducting my own RFQ(request for quote) all day Wednesday.
• Arranging to have everything done by Friday and was completed on Saturday

Long story short - My furnace and Air con were 21 years old - YES 21 YEARS OLD.  With the new tax rebate, one couldn't buy a cheaper furnace so, I am now EFFICIENT! Seriously amazed at how QUIET the Air con is and how well it works.  

3) Amongst all of this, I barely saw my sister who came in from Cali. :( 

So ya.  After all of this, I so want about 3 more days of holiday!  

However, I was able to sneak in crafting! Just listed my first custom item. Isn't it cute? I love the new Graphic 45 Hallowe'en in Wonderland collection.

    

*sigh* See now you all know why I wish I had more time off! Alas, the car and the HVAC needs to get paid for so Off to WORK I GO!
