Happy Halloween everybody! We are almost out of Halloween Candy over here- we went through 5 bags! I like greeting the trick r treaters and Mummy said that did a really good job.


oh whoa is me. I am here all dressed up as your friendly neighborhood pumpkin pug. but I am wondering if Rufus made it to his new forever home.

Mummy says that she just heard from Rufus's new Mummy! Rufus's Mummy sent along these pictures of Ginger and Muggli!

Oh Brother.

....Is my brother a smart guy!

When I was looking at new cars I made a list of cars I thought would fit in my budget as well as my lifestyle. It has been a long time since I bought a car so I was happy to get the feedback from my brother - he is an accountant so he looks into total cost of value & his first big purchase? A house! Mine? Definitely not a house.

So you can see, he knows his stuff.

Anyways-I wanted a Smart Car- badly. Not because it was exactly cute, it was just cool! No room in the trunk but man, did you get milage! Think of all the money I would save! Also - I could do donuts in my driveway and will not have to worry about getting stuck in the snow *cough* as long as I put sandbags in the car *cough*! Perfect car for me I thought.

His thoughts on that subject were: "no way". ROTF

I am so glad I took his advice! Case in point:



Yes that picture was taken today in Lake Villa IL by the Chicago Tribune. And YES, that is a Smart Car hit by a branch gratis of our 40 MPH wind gusts today. What you can't see from the picture? A woman had a 4 foot BRANCH impaled into her tummy! Thank God she survived and she is recovering well. Only request she had for her hubby? Keep the branch, I want to make an art project out of it. Lol! This is for reals- just was discussed on Channel 7 news this evening!

Good on her! I want to know what her next car will be....

Pumpkins pumpkins everywhere a pumpkin

 

Pumps for the swap. Not only did I needle felt some flat pumpkins but I finally used my German Glass glitter for some tag pumpkins! 

Also a pumpkin left the Shoppe to find a new home! YEA! Soon I will have to be putting up holiday stuff! Double YEA!

And than there is always the Little Pumpkin. But she better not go anywhere!*huggles her*

Rufus the Wannabe PUG finds a HOME!

I am so happy to say that Rufus and his candy cane is going to a home filled with kiddies and two puggies! YEA!

Aine thought she would wait for the post  -in her halloween costume -so that Rufus can have a proper send off.

"Bye bye Rufus!" said Aine. "We will miss you! Have fun at your new home!"she yelled.  

No worries Aine! Now I get to make more puggie stuff! YEA!

To T, My Bestie who just got a fantastic bed frame

 My Bestie T - Just got this amazing handcrafted  patent leather upholstered bed frame that has litteraly came across the seas. So now we need to  complete the bedroom!

T has a few kitties  - and she is a firm rescuer of said kitties! This  bed is so the kitties won't ruin her new bed. I dont know which one will like it more?  But the bigger question is .... will she let her Mom's kitty hang in this bed? hmmmm

One needs pjs - so why not some kittie ones?

But really - the kitties need their own beddie too besides the one above - why not have a kitty condo? (ps - I love this! I want to live there.)

T is a fellow Whoian. OR Doctor Who Fan. But she loves the Daleks. This would be a great bed tshirt. Sorry T. I couldnt find anything with Jack Harkness on it.

T is also fellow English Major - and every English Major who has not converted to the Ipad, *cough* T has not *cough*, needs a uber cool book case.

*sigh* T is an amazing friend but my LORD does she lovith the  bugs. We are talking bugs of all types. I mean. She even has TOUCHED cicadas. *all sorts of Ewwwwwwww*  Granted, she did virtually kill a spider for me so I still love her. LOL.

T just needs this because she loves all things sparkley and pretty. I believe everyone should have a chandelier!

Cat Nap - Get it? LOL Love it!

LOl So glad I found this sleep shirt for T. She LOVES Duran Duran. I think I have lost count how many times she has seen them in concert now (21st century) and than (last century 20th).

This blanket will look perfect on her bed. Especially with the patent leather.

Okay. Yes, she doesnt have an ipad - but she does have an IPHONE. And if you have not figured out by now, she loveith the glitttterrr. So she needs this like. NOW.
 

Isn't this sparkly table pretty? It serves a serious purpose besides being pretty. T - -aka THE WOMAN -   STILL HAS A FLAT SCREEN TV IN A BOX THAT NEEDS TO GET OUT!!  Seriously. One needs to watch  Nick at Night in style. Please free the TV!

Everyone needs a glittery banner like this in their bedroom. I look at it and dream.

FINALLY.   Okay I know this isn't *really* a sleep shirt but my LORD does it have T written all over it.  Let me see. Um it is glittery, it has a cherry on top an doh - it also would look so cute on her!

Happy Birthday Daddy

I believe I am addicted to Etsy's Treasury feature. I am so excited & honored that my Georgie has been included in three treasuries! *does happy dance*

I really like how you can pick a theme and showcase the coolest folks on Etsy around that theme. Definitely encouraging!

This time I decided to do a Treasury in honor of my Dad who would have been 84. As promised, here are what each one means!




1. My Dad smoked a pipe. Gosh people loved it and I loathed the smell but now I miss the smell.
2. The coffee peculator. Omg the memories. My Dad would get up at 4 am (the best time of the day to get things done! he used to say.)& than go back to bed at 6am. The best time was when my brother and I decided to make coffee for my Mom and Dad and we were both like 5. Hence the coffee was like mud.
3. The WWII jacket. Oh I love this and I can't believe the jacket is going for $50! I had my dads whole uniform. He served in WWII as an MP in Italy. It was really cool and so well made. In fact- I even wore it once for Halloween!
4. Tobacco. Can you believe that one of my jobs when I ran errands was to pick up his tobacco at the dime store?! Not lying. I was like 11?
5. Mustard. Another OMG moment. What is pictured is "sissy mustard" aka not the strong mustard or as it was called in my household "he-man mustard"! Lol so not kidding. We would look for the best he-man mustard we could find. Still this obsession exists with me today- albeit - not necessary hot mustard but the more flavorful mustard. My favorite? Honeycup uniquely sharp mustard. Look for the octagonal jar.
6. Cheers. My Dad never missed Cheers- in fact this was the only time we could watch tv while eating dinner.
7. Lead soldiers. When my Dad grew up- this is how you made your toy solders! You melted lead into a mold and waited for them to cool. Never mind childhood lead poisoning, he needed his toy soldiers! So much so when I was cleaning out my Grandma's attic, I was always tasked with trying to find them & to this day we have no idea where they are.
8. Irish- Dad was 100% Irish but you would have never known. They used to call him "the Swede" because his hair was so blonde.
9.& 10. Dad adored Ben Franklin mostly for his humor.
11&12 Dad used to represent castings & paint in his sales profession. Also he gave me the exact pot belly stove when traveling to Boston for being so good lol
13. Wool fedora- Dad was always a classy dresser. We have a great picture of my Dad with a fedora.
14. St George slaying the dragon & 15. St. Loyola- Schools my Dad went to and believe you me, he could tell you all about each of these saints.
16. Vodka with Buddy Hackett- I can't believe I found this! Dad & Mom loved their vodka martinis. I would beg for the olives each night - not knowing the olives were vodka soaked.

Cheater Cheater, Pumpkin Eater

Tsk tsk.

Mummy has cheated this year for halloween.

Yes. SHE CHEATED. BAD MUMMY. As you can see, I am embarrassed.

She actually BOUGHT my costume instead of making it by hand. Mummy  "claims" that the following are taking her away from making me a Sue Sylvester from Glee:

1. the  Sketchbook Project
2. Tag Swap
3. Halloween Cards
4. Etsy Shoppe
5. CPSM Study
6. Xmas Cards
7. and many house hold chores - including making a shower curtain.

and other crafty goodies that are taking up her time. That and the plethora of stuff on her etsy shoppe. 

Okay. I guess I will forgive her. She is working hard. *grumble*
