Neddle Felting Mission for this weekend: Franklin and Mini Me

Everyone, meet Franklin. A puggy that got hit by a car running after his master. :(.


I have been commissioned to make a felted pug for one of the pug rescues at their annual fund raiser. I wanted to make a handicap-able puggy and my Pug Fest friends told me about adorable Franklin. I am in the midst of making Franklin along with his cool wheels. This will mean soldering irons and flux oh my! Thankfully, his Mama gave me great pictures to imitate his cool wheels. I just hope the result is as good as he looks in them! If so, Mr Franklin is getting his very own Mini Me for being such a brave little puggy. Btw he was named after FDR. How cool is that?!?


Next challenge - " what I wore today" felting edition since I so can not draw. I have already made the nakers mini me and am about to start making Aine right now. Very excited about this as well.

Again, I just hope that what is in my minds eye will translate to what I make! If it does, squeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Than I hope I take pictures worthy of my creations. That right there is such a challenge especially with the yucky weather we have here. May have to make my own light box if it keeps up like this!

Betty Crocker, Martha Stewart and Ina Garten, help a girl out. My quest for the perfect butter cookie!

I have loved butter cookies since I was a kiddie. However, I have never been able to make the bakery style butter cookie and have it taste all buttery and melty in your mouth kind of way. Seriously.never.been.able.to.master.this.type.of.cookie. The fact that I can't make this type of cookie? Drives me insane and is making me extremely poor because The Cake Box is da bomb when it comes to butter cookies. If there was a butter cookie olympic games? They would win the gold metal. But alas. There isn't one. If there was, I would be their judge. I have tried EVERY recipe I can find. Xmas cookies that you chill first? Only tastes good if you put lovely confection icing on it. Which -in a way is not a BAD butter cookie -but it is missing the "dab of butter" taste in the mouth. (Btw I know half of you just went ewwwwww and the other half went ohhhhhhhh numm... Admit it. You DID.) Supposedly, the Cookie Press (or spritz cookies) are the best for these types of cookies. However, this particular gadget is my enemy. I have never been successful with making the PERFECT spritz press butter cookie. Which is quite sad come to think about it. I mean really, how HARD is a cookie spritz press? Two frustrated batches of cookie dough later; it is very hard indeed. So blog friends - and Martha, Betty and Ina - just in case you are listening - HELP A BUTTERCOOKIEPHILE OUT. Send me your yummiest butter cookie receipes and I will check them out! If it wins, I will needle felt something for ya. :) See here - this is how desperate I am. I did a vlog. *gasp*

Happiness comes in packages and pug armies

Crazy busy but I have to tell you all of some exciting happenings!

1. I am raising a(making a felted)PUG ARMY as my bestie T calls it.  So excited about this! One I am particularly excited about for pug rescue. I hope I can find the proper items to make it work.  Who knew a little hobby of mine and love of pugs would mesh together so well?! *squee*

2. BBC Radio contacted me and they are sending me the recordings of my interviews! As soon as I get them - i will figure out how to post them!

3. OMG I got this AMAZING package from edwoodpugz  that will get a proper video showing because pictures cant do the lovely package justice! *flails* IT ROCKS!

4. My Adobe Illustrator class is FANTASTIC! I can't wait to get the software!

5.  Did ya'all see this?  I love the last line.

Mo Knows

I wouldnt be anywhere without my friends and family but especially  my beloved friend Mo.   MO guess what?! I PUT MY BIG GIRL PANTS ON!!!  

*squeee* I signed up for something that I kept on putting off for a while.

I am taking  Adobe Illustrator  at the School of the Art Insititue  of Chicago Continuing Education Program so that I can master this program once-and-for-all. Big bday gifty to me. :) This class will also  help me with another personal goal that I have been brewing. ;)

This is going to be a busy month - I go to class at night and Ms. Aine has to have her schedule adjusted.  That means me, my car and my life needs to be uber organized. Shoot. Mo can you come to Chi-town and manage my life for the next two months? :)

Classes start next MONDAY! ACK! *does happy dance* Oh shoot! I got to get my student id.  Omg I have a student id ya'all.  think of the glorious tech that I can buy!!
