Another Royal Wedding! Zara Phillips!

This past weekend Scotland witnessed Princess Anne's daughter - Zara Phillips-get married to her Rugby player hubby. Zara is a professional equestrian and is the only one of the Queen's grandchildren that sports a pierced tongue. Her tiara was worn by her mum when she was younger.


I personally do not like calla lilies at weddings because I believe they should really be at a funeral...


However, I adored the bridesmaids wedding dresses! Reminds me of the ones I had for the girls at my wedding.


And look at their hair!? So cute!


I really like the maid of honors headband


Princess Anne looks good and so does her Sis-in- Law The Countess of Wessex, Sophie


And my favo couple- Duke of Duchess of Cambridge! Or as they are know in Scotland- Earl & Countess of Strathearn.

and our favorite royal sisters, Beatrice and Eugenie. Finally they got their outfits right.


And the worst hat award goes to Camilla. I mean ... What is that?

Cleaning up from the freakish storm ....if you have not heard, my town got 7 inches of rain in an hour or something crazy like that? Xoxo and zzzzing Aine(who is not liking all the change to her schedule)

On a side note - I am busy with making felted pug armies, and I am going to Orlando for a work conference! I have never been to Disney nor Universal and I have only 2 days.... any thoughts?  HELP!  Hugs and wooo wooos! Nan and Aine wwoooo

Steam Pug, Frank Lloyd Wright, Windmill, Cuneo Mansion & Japanese Garden have one thing in common

ME! So first think first... Sorry I have been such a bad blogger. One week in six sigma training was tough but I passed my test! Yea! I now have to take the online cbt test. Boo. I rather do the work you know? It has been a long time since I did Stats.

So the final three long cable wires from WOW were removed on Saturday and those were fried from the fire as well! Also, did you know they are recyclable?

Anyways enough about the virtues of Six Sigma and fires in my back yard. Here some pictures I forgot to show you!

I went to a wedding at The Cuneo Mansion in Vernon Hills, IL. I was taking pictures on the sly because you were really not supposed to so they are not the best...

And now onto the wedding... It was amazing. I never went to a wedding where they did the handkerchief dance. Oh my goodness now that was a party. But look at the flowers!


















So for my birthday my family took me to the Fabyan Villa, Japanese Garden and a Windmill in Geneva, IL. It was so cool. I wish I could taken pictures inside the house but I couldn't. Col. Fabyan inherited $2 million in 1902. That was pre- income tax ya'all! He and his wife were fascinating and a bit pack-rat-ish. For instance- they bought a working windmill.





Yes it works.





And it a fire hazard bakery in the basement.





They trained a monkey to ring a bell if he didn't know who the person was that was coming to the house...That is the monkeys home....

But that is not all-Col. Fabyan was something of a Japanese-aphile. He created a Japanese garden in his back yard....

but that was not all... He had a bear cage! Yes he had bears and imported crocodiles... oh may!





And it is now a place for picnicking.





He was also a Baconite and bought a lot of William Shakespeare's First Folios. Big geeky moment for me. I thought the first folios were bought by the Goverment during WWII but Col. F actually GAVE the First Folios to the best known Willie the Shakes Library outside of the UK - Folgers Library in DC. He swore that Bacon wrote the Shakespeare plays. So much so he started one of the first code breaking centers in the USA. Fascinating and I am only a few of the things he got involved in. Definitely check out both places if you can!

What happened on my SUMMER vacation. (pug pics!)

my BBC Royal Wedding Interview April 28, 2011

In honor of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge being in the USA - I give you...*drumroll*  a recording of my first BBC Wales interview! *hazzah!!*

This is the first of two BBC Wales interviews that I did for the Royal Wedding. The second one I am still uploading.  I want to thank BBC Wales so much for this opportunity and for sending me the interviews!
